About Galit

Israeli born Galit has been teaching and performing Bellydance for over 15 years. Galit trained with some of the world’s greatest Bellydance masters amongst them Raqia Hassan, Aida Noor, Yousri Sharif and many more. In the UK Galit trained with Jo Wise. Since getting her teacher’s diploma from JWAAD Galit has gone on to establish herself as one of the UK's favourite belly dancers and sought after teachers she is now also on the JWAAD’s teachers training team.

Galit’s passion for dance encourages her to keep training and explore other forms of dance that she incorporates into her Bellydancing adding an edge to it which is unique to her. Her dance and movements have been recorded using advanced motion capture technology for the virtual online community secondlife

As a performer Galit’s presence is mesmerising, versatile and very original. Her flare for drama adds narrative and humour to her performance which has become her trademark. Those who have seen Galit on stage, know to expect something different and original.

Galit has performed in many different productions; Egyptian Moonlight, Fantasia and Jewels of the Nile - to name a few, her verstility got her a part dancing in the production of the Opera 'Djamilla' at the Royal Opera House in London

Galit’s solo sell out show Bellylicious was created in 2007 with a view to expose a wider audience to the dance. Bellylicious is a Bellydance cabaret show with a difference in which Galit demonstrates with great passion and much humour what it's all about using short commentary between numbers to put her message across. To date Galit has produced 3 tutorial DVDs the first one was ‘The Shisha Dance’ based on a dance she created using the Shisha (water pipe)as a prop.
‘A Course in Bellydance’ a double DVD and CD for anyone who wishes to learn Bellydance which she made in collaboration with musician Tim Garside With basic steps, drills and combinations.
Arabic Jazz Fusion in which she teaches Jazz moves to combine with Belly Dance.

In her classes (as on stage) Galit is great fun and offers a high technical standard. She has a unique ability to draw the best out of her students and has great respect for her students’ own skills and dance style which makes her a truly inspiring teacher.
Being a performer herself, Galit encourages her students to perform and puts on a student's show ‘Bellydance Extravaganza’ on a professional stage every year in July.
